The Light

There is a light that hides inside
Every sould I've ever known
For some the surface is not so far
But others know not what's there
It is forced to live the dark caves
Cowering away from solid hearts
The glimmer that lies there in
Seemingly small and rarely seen
It wishes to scratch the surface
Breaking through it's barred in doors
Though it tries it is put away
Forced to cower further down
Most forget the light is there
Those who know prefer the dark
Only when the light is allowed
Can it bring warmth and glow
Happiness more than can be known
But one must first find their courage
For to find the light you must dig
Deep inside yourself to where it hides
And there's nothing scarier than ones own soul
